Your chao can plant trees in the garden. You can have a total of 7 trees in your garden. (meaning that 4 seeded trees can be planted at a time.) Your chao will need the spade (shovel) and be able to walk before it can plant a seed. If it has the water can, then it can water the tree as well, and the tree will grow faster. It's a good idea to keep a few trees in your garden, to make sure that your chao don't starve. At least one chao needs the watering can, as that can enhance the trees' life. A Strong Fruit tree is the most recommended tree to keep in your garden, because they live the longest, and Strong Fruit actually enhance your chao's lifespan.
