Shiny Chao are basically chao that look like polished versions of regular solid-colored chao. These chao are very beautiful, and you can buy them from the Black Market, though they are very expensive. The cost of a Shiny Chao is ten times the cost of its regular color. For example, a Green Chao Egg costs 800 rings. A Shiny Green Chao Egg costs 8000 rings. Many people confuse these chao with Jewel Chao, however they are completely different chao. In order for Shiny Chao to appear in the Black Market, you need a decent amount of emblems. The more emblems you have, the more likely a rare shiny chao comes up.
Instead of waiting for emblems, there is a trick to get a Shiny Chao. First, earn up 4000 rings, and buy a Shiny White Egg from the Black Market. Raise it up, and then buy some different solid-colored chao. Now, once both of these chao are grown up, mate them. Keep mating them until you get a Shiny version of the solid-colored chao. It may take a while, but it does work.
A question that is quite common is if it is possible to make a Shiny Regular, and Shiny Twotones. The answer is yes. Just mate the two chao like you would any ordinary twotone, but use a Shiny solid-colored chao, instead of just a regular solid color.
- Buy a Shiny White Egg from the Black Market
- Raise it up with a Regular Chao
- Mate the two until your outcome is a Shiny Regular
- Use a Dark Character (Shadow, Rouge or Eggman), and pet the chao repetitively, to make sure that it isn't a White Twotone. If it's a simple Shiny Regular, then rejoice!
It works the same way for twotones. Just get a Shiny Monotone Chao (solid-colored chao), and mate it with a regular chao. Sometimes these chao are referred to as "Metallic" Chao, and there are a lot of useless steps.
